What a challenging year 2020 has been! Both our business and customers have faced huge obstacles throughout the year and have adapted to a new way of living and working. Amidst the set-backs we are proud to say that we have accomplished some really great things!
Take a look at what we achieved in 2020…
2.5 million plants have been packed in the nursery! This is enough hedging to walk over 500 miles.
We are happy to have been able to support UK growers by selling plants at a time when other outlets such as garden centres couldn’t do so due to lockdown closures.
66k parcels and pallets delivered to our customers, contact free! We are so happy to have been able to deliver so many plants to our customers throughout the lockdown periods, encouraging people to get into their gardens and stay active in fresh air.
We have also started making some deliveries in our own vehicle by our lovely driver, Graham!
Our sales team has taken 69,508 calls to customers looking for expert advice on our plants; 10,571 of those calls resulted in a sale to a happy customer ready to get stuck in the garden.
Whilst our office time was short lived this year, we still managed to use a whopping 44,000 tea bags and 12,000 biscuits!
We are proud to announce that we will be donating £5,000 to Cancer Research UK this January, to help support the charity at this challenging time. We will also be donating a further £5,000 to benefit local charities, Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley and St. Catherine’s Hospice in Preston.
We feel very strongly about the importance of giving to charity, especially at this time; charities are struggling more than ever from a lack of fundraising events and the unfortunate halt of research studies due to lockdown requirements.
