Company Overview

Hedges Direct is the UK's leading supplier of hedging plants, available nationally (except Northern Ireland) by ordering online or by phone. We've been selling quality hedging and garden plants since 2005 and in that time, we've sold millions of plants, from tiny 10cm plants to 9m tall, super specimens! We now sell over 120 hedging and shrub species plus a wide range of privacy screens, topiary and garden trees, plus planting and aftercare products. In a nutshell, we've got something for everyone!

We supply plants all year round to both retail and trade customers. So, whether you are a homeowner, land owner, garden enthusiast or novice, landscaper or local council, we can supply quality plants for any project regardless of size and budget. We offer competitive pricing and fast delivery, with most plants dispatched direct from our 16 acre nursery site in Lancashire where all plants are quality checked before dispatch to customers.

Having access to a large network of growers across the UK and Europe, also means that we can actually source any plants that you may need, not just those featured on our website. So, whatever your planting project or design, we can find and supply the right plants for you.

Understanding our customers - We passionately believe that the first step in any buying journey is to take time to understand our customers and their needs. Our end goal is to always ensure that you get exactly the right plants for your garden or project.

Expert sales team - To help choose the right plants, we have a dedicated and friendly sales team. Every member of our team has extensive product knowledge and will take the time to listen to you, providing relevant advice on species selection, plant suitability, maintenance, planting density and much more.

The right advice and information - We are happy to provide information and images to you and if we don't know the answer to a query, we'll find out and get back to you. We think it's important to educate and inform our customers, not just to sell, so that you will be happy with your garden and planting choice for years to come.

We never compromise on quality. Through dedicated maintenance and care, our teams work hard to keep our plants healthy and our customers happy! So much so that we guarantee all of our plants for a full 12 months! Find out more about this on our Plant Guarantee page.

We regularly visit our growing sites to check on the progress, health, and growth of our stock. All of our growers work strictly to the regulations governing the horticultural industry both here in the UK and in Europe and have many years' growing experience expertly cultivating and nurturing plants to their best potential.

When a delivery arrives at our nursery, a member of our quality team will inspect all of the plants to ensure that they meet our high-quality standard. Once the plants have been checked, our teams will find them an appropriate place on our nursery. Depending on the species and the time of year, this will be in our polytunnels, in a sheltered bay or out in our fields.

During their stay at our nursery, all plants are cared for by our dedicated plant care and maintenance team. This includes appropriate watering, feeding, pruning, and general plant maintenance including pest and disease control. Our plants are therefore in peak condition before being picked for your order.

We truly believe in offering all of our customers the same, first class service with a personal, friendly approach, whether you are a retail or a trade customer. Just as our sales team help you through the buying journey, our dedicated customer service team are there to help once you have completed your purchase.

Transporting and delivering live plants is not without its challenges so the customer service team are on hand to help with any aspect of delivery and receipt of plants and to address any issues you may have. Call them with any after-sale queries and they'll be more than happy to help you.

Our customer service team do an incredible job and always go the extra mile to ensure that issues are resolved quickly and to the customer's satisfaction, even through our peak season where the pressure is definitely on! If you can imagine hearing a smile down the phone line, that's their default and what makes them truly exceptional.

We are open up to 6 days a week in peak season (autumn, winter and spring) and 5 days aside from that, because we know gardening doesn't always fit around office hours. When open over the weekend our phones are answered by the same friendly and experienced team that are there to help during the week. Our current opening hours are:
